• Comparing a Lumix gf1 and gh5 online I read this:

On the other hand, since Panasonic GF1 has 32% larger pixel area compared to Panasonic G5, it has potential to collect more light on pixel level hence have less noise in low light / High ISO images"

    What does it mean for one to have a larger pixel area than the other since they have the same sensor?

  • It says they have the same sensor size - m4/3.
    Based on the quote, I'd guess that the GF1 has fewer pixels on the same size sensor as the G5, thus the pixels on the GF1 must be larger to cover the same area.
