No bother - think I've got the crank and calipers somewhere ... lovely looking brakes .... when does your build start ... ?
-
• #31
Soon-If your crank and brakes are for sale :)

Hi , oooh ... hadn’t really thought about it - always kept the cranks as they are so nice .....I can think about it while I root around for the brakes .... whereabouts are you. ... ? but .... I did find this today - was given it by Wiggins mechanic after Tour of Britain ages ago .... still can just make out “Wig” .... !
might be time to get rid and could be good to finish off your build .....

doesn't seem to be DA, as DA has less notches for the wrench on the outside. also, it has the notches on both sides, whereas ultegra and downward have them only on the NDS.
i think you are better of with this one though - i had many bb-7700 units fubar'd but the sealed cartridge units hold up for ages (using a bb-5500 with my 7710 cranks and it is as smooth as ever - a bit less preload, tho.. :)

Aha - my mistake ... here is my Dura Ace one ... it’s got ZG printed on it , teeth only on non drive side cup

Will the spindle /axle fit the 7700 crank arms with the 8 splines ?
-
• #37
really? doesn't the other side have a lockring? (it should)
-
• #38
sure. they are all called OCTAlink for a reason :) just make sure it is 109.5 mm long - longer is for triple/mtb

Incidentally, what did you wash the oil off with?

Frame looks mint! Shame about the seat cluster bash, maybe a trip to Halfords touch-up paint section might turn up a close match to the cream/white?

autoglym paint renovator is superb stuff. It gets rid of oil and crud and brings the colour to life and gets rid of minor scuffs and scratches.

Cheers :)
Need it for a few frames

It really is in great condition.

@SideshowBob
Didn't forget about the seat post. Just having a hectic week. Will send you pics this weekend.
Sorry for that.
Frame is lovely indeed. -

No problem, as and when you have a chance :)

they are all called OCTAlink for a reason :)
Of course, it's obvious.
I thought it was just a brand name :)

Zefal cages bought.
Very difficult to see from the available catalogue pictures the make and model of the cages but these zefal ones look identical.

Almost went for this myself but decided against it, thinking the same thing about the head tube as yourself. Glad it turned out to be the right size for you, looking forward to seeing the build progress....

The ebay seller did package it in the thinnest bubble wrap and used the thinnest cardboard known to science and then didn't place any further sufficient packaging in the box to stop the frame from being thrown around inside the box.
The end result is a bash to the seat tube :(
