Mate, that sucks... Hope this means you find an exciting new guitar style that makes you fall in love with playing all over again...
cheers Joe - I've been messing around with the GF's very nice Ohana Uke..........might be a way to get some strength back :/

Maybe we should take some solace in watching Keef play, his hands are clearly fucked but he still manages OK... Open tuning FTW!!!

open tuning indeed! ha! Midnight Rambler for hours on end!

Slide guitar it is!
Or Django
Or Sabbath
None of which require a full compliment of digits

All this talk of hands!
I have a wrist problem. When I play quick power chords (and to a lesser extent barre chords) I tend to flex my wrist severely, I know this and I know it's bad but I can't seem to find a technique that lets me not do this. I'm wearing a wrist support now to try and keep it straight but I'm still struggling. I want to play metal and punk tunes but it just ends up being quite frustrating as I can see my wrist is bent.
Anyone else overcome this problem? There's quite a bit of chat on the web about it but it's hard to discern what the issue is with me.

Which hand?

Also @>>>>>> the nerdy, anyone can play guitar guy’s new vid is Shake Some Action! Arf.

Sorry, fretting hand for me is my left.
Edit: Also, this is mostly on electric. I find sitting down with my acoustic much more comfortable, seemingly because the thickness of the body puts the neck in a nicer position for me. Further away so less need to "shorten" my arm by bending my wrist

Bit confused. Standing up? Strap length? Pic?

Talking of ergonomics, I've just bought a Telecoustic which is undeniably Not A Good Guitar but is damn comfortable. It's now my go-to for a sofa noodle. Which is kinda the only playing I do. Nice chunky electric neck, too, and I shimmed the neck for a nice low action.
Suppose what I'm saying is if you're having comfort issues, buy a shit £100 fibreglass acoustic.

On the off chance you can get your mitts on one to try nearby I'd suggest a shot of a Strandberg... They have an ergonomically designed, asymmetric neck profile which may be helpful to you... or may not?

You and your expensive tastes! I'd love a shot on a Strandberg and that's before learning that they've got an asymmetric neck profile. Good shout, I'll see what I can find local.

Just been pissing around in Logic with amp sims and ham-fisted widdles. Ranebow Deth LIVES!

€1300 on Thomann for a 6-string Boden Classic isn't too crazy though! Worth a shot anyway!

Oooh sparkly! Kinda looks a bit like a guitar Hannah Montana would play. Or maybe a country and western alien spaceman.

It's perfect for me: cheap and cheerful, doesn't matter if it gets knocked around a bit, is quiet unplugged, thin and comfy to play slouched on the sofa...
Mate, that sucks... Hope this means you find an exciting new guitar style that makes you fall in love with playing all over again...
I'm starting to get arthritis in my fingers, not looking forward to that... Better pick up a slide soon!
