  • chains are a ball ache, ay. Had offer accepted in February, FTBs with all our mortgage and deposit stuff sorted for a month now but waiting on the people above our seller to get their shit together, not even really convinced they know where they're buying yet. Wouldn't mind so much, but we've got to be out of our place the end of next month...

How much of a dick is it reasonable to be about asking people to move out rather than us find alternative accommodation? Or recouping the cost of it dragging on against the sale price?

  • February

    November my friend, NOVEMBER.

  • As in, 2017?

  • It's a one bedroom flat (albeit a bigger one) and we don't hoover as often as we should if I'm honest.

Does yours have one battery or two?

  • Well he was talking about himself in the third person a few posts back

I live in a house with a black cat and someone with long black hair that gets everywhere

  • just the one. not that we've felt the need to have another.

  • My recommendation for hoovers (outside of a Miele which is obviously first choice) is the Dyson Outlet store on ebay, particularly as there are often 20% off deals on top of the refurb prices.

  • I take it that's 'don't be a dick, find somewhere else and wait'.

  • I need to remortgage, whats the easiest way to get an idea of different mortgages out there. Do I need to go round Money Supermarket et al and see what's there then get in touch with providers and go through their processes...I know these things take time but fuck me its so boring.

  • I used habito which was pretty straightforward for an online broker

Referral link if you do use them (£100 for each of us)

  • yeah but dyson tho.

    fuck that guy.

  • True. I'm telling myself that refurbed price and 20% off is cutting into his profits.

  • Just managed to log in to TSB for the first time since all the mayhem. The mortgage seems to have vanished. Hooray, mortgage free after just one month.

  • Just had an offer accepted on a one bed house. Get ready for many questions.

Such as: access to front door is via land owned by house behind, who have given right of way access. If I wanted to build a tiny bike shed there, should I make them a cake first?

  • Miele

    ^ This.

I have this one for all the cat hair etc...

  • I did this when I bought out my then-partner from our house (I do not recommend this experience).

We got half a dozen estate agent valuations, tossed out the top and bottom one, and averaged the rest.

  • fuck that guy

This - not giving that twat any business. It's alright to fuck things up for everyone else when you're worth over $5 billion isn't it!

  • If it's just a right of way you'll probably need more than cake.

  • After selling my house in Feb. And buying a flat in March. And now selling my flat SSTC... I have started looking at houses again. Fuck knows what to do.

Seen a few in ok-ish areas of South Manchester last week. And booked in to see some in Teesside in case I decide to relocate. Just can't decide whether to pull the trigger. On anything. Mrr is better for work. Teesside are nicer properties. Stuck in the same dilemma.

And there's open days happening this weekend on Mcr ones. Grr.

  • Had a good? conversation with estate agent. Sellers 'family' member is actually in no immediate place to buy in the UK, but are viewing flat tomorrow anyway. Agent seems to think its all just political and we'll have our offer accepted on monday.

  • Thanks. I'm in the process of getting lots of valuations and plan to do the same.

  • @Vesalius what is shown in those photos is not dry rot a lot of insect activity which is a good thing not bad. Very unusual to get dry rot in the roof except under valley gutters because despite the name dry rot needs a constantly damp and humid environment to develop. From the photographs the roof looks about 40 -50 years old the timbers are properly sized and there is little distress in them. If you want more info PM me.
