Does it get better? The first couple of episodes are iffy. Too much focus on the kids and their terrible acting (I realise it’s a kids show).

I think the first episode was the best out of the entire season. It's pretty fun if you don't except groundbreaking TV. I liked the visuals and the music the most. Keep in mind like you said that it's a PG12 family show basically.
