    I'm not a massive fan of estate agents but that really seems to take the piss...

  • It wasn't quite as bad as I've made it sound. If the tenant was happy to match the highest offer then they got it minus fees. If not then the flat would have been sold to the highest offer.
    The flat was being sold basically, just tenant had first dibs

  • I meant more the potential buyers' time spent viewing it, back and forth w the estate agent to make an offer, etc.

    But yeah, what @duncs said after is fair enough.
