    It's just standard roadie advice (that I ignored for years, because I didn't have a clue). I got it from Bob Davis (of Road Danger Reduction Forum fame) initially.

    Only ride with bare knees on very warm summer days.

  • Just a guess but long term typical cycling injury will be bad knees. Better off riding with them covered to stave off all manner of ailments for a while longer, arthritis speeds up with the cold I think.
