  • The Alfie Evans case which has been going on for a while now is pretty horrible all round.

Alfie has serious degenerative brain damage and will not survive without life support, and the doctors have recommended his life support be ended.

His parents disagree but have lost court cases all the way up to the ECHR.

Protesters are now threatening to storm the hospital, other parents of children at Alder Hey are getting upset, and the family are going to try and sue the hospital and the doctors.

It must be unimaginably hard for the parents, but also for the doctors and nurses who are trying to do the right thing and getting harassed on their way to work and threatened with legal action.

It's awful that the hospital's care is the only thing keeping the kid alive, but they're being called murderers for arguing that there is no point prolonging things.

  • Yeah, horrible situation. But the fact it's got to the point where police have to protect the hospital from the protesters is pretty sickening.

  • The Pope has sent an Italian military air ambulance (how does this work?) to take him to a Vatican hospital now.
