IME If you look at the first shot, same shot, shot well on a good film (given the day a sharp ektar 100 although portra 160 is my fav now) would have more data/details in both dark and light where as with digital even with manipulated "HDR" there won't be. The more details/data you have the more you can interpret it if you need to.
Yes, but what is it based on. I'm genuinely interested. My phone always does HDR by default and I didn't know there could be a downside to it?
