Consider the sources. It's no real surprise that the people selling safety kit state that their safety kit is safe.
My guess, in the absence of any real evidence, is that helmet mounted cameras increase the risk of some brain injuries.
Michael Grim of Specialized seems to be suggesting that people are wearing helmet-mounted rocks.

For the first time in my life a master reset seems to have worked. Fly 12 now seems to be functioning.

There were studies* years ago that investigated new-fangled super vented/sculpted helmets and the theory that all the sticky-outty (tech term) bits were causing neck injuries or exacerbating head injuries due to resisting sliding. It wouldn't surprise me if there were some cases where adding stuff to your helmet could add risk but at the same time I would concur that their mounts aren't likely to survive impact - you might get 'lucky' and hit something dead on such that it drives the thing into you head or stops the helmet shattering but I refer you to 'shit happens'.
*maybe it was just internet chatter, it was many years ago

Maybe MIPS is enough to counteract the extra rotational force on your head

I don't wear my aero helmet during ultras because it's ~100g heavier than my other one. I try to minimise helmet-light use during races too. The extra weight is killer.

Fly12 is £125 at Chain Reaction.
-
• #733
And £115 on Amazon. Hmm. Is the rear camera important?
-
• #734
Depends what you're trying to capture. Rear camera shows lots of stuff.

I captured a mouse in a trap this morning using a Fly12.
It's worth having a bike light knocking about your kitchen in case you hear some unidentified squeaking under a cabinet with loads of kiddy related rubbish shoved underneath it, and it happens to be a mouse with its back half stuck in a trap.
I'm afraid to report the mouse didn't make it
