The mopping continues, loved it. Congrats Bobby

What a spring by QS! Great ride by Jungels, as soon as he went you knew it would take a big effort from someone to bring him back and there was a lack of top tier domestiques to do the grunt work.

You mean Valverde? Just say Valverde.

I can't, the omerta ;)

What happened to that downed spectator?

Kwia MIA again, very forgettable season so far for him.
Won Volta ao Algarve and Tirreno-Adriatico though...perhaps shows that his focus and preparation has not been geared to the one-dayers...

Algarve and Tirreno-Adriatico seem so long ago...
Also Sky’s domestique support doesn’t seem strong enough or focussed enough to beat quickstep.

Check Twitter. He said one days were his aim, and surprised to therefore win stages. Just not had the right luck/ top form of last year.

• #16588
True. Meant it in relations to the classics, should have been more specific

Fair to say Sky were very poor, after showing signs of getting their classics shit together in the last few seasons.

Considering the current trend is for riders to become increasingly specialised, the whole squad, both domestiques and leaders, all seem to be specialising in carrying out their duties in stage races, while hoping that the form works the same for one-dayers. Tough to compete with those doing the opposite...although maybe three GC riders on the podium of LBL says otherwise!

Great win by Jungels, loved how he capitalised on the couple of moments it took the chasers to decide who would do the first pull, and pushed on with great power on his own. Stylish rider, too. Second year pro and fellow Tilburgian Sam Oomen was best Dutchie in 12th place, lacking explosiveness but looking good for the Giro just like his team leader Dumoulin.
Anna van der Breggen is a 'cannibale'! Set to follow in La Vos' footsteps (in road racing at least, she won't match her CX and track success I think)

Stylish rider
This. He looks superb on the bike.

i was at the arrival after LBL, very impressive to watch him pacing himself a bit on the last ramp, he definitly had some left in the legs. I thought Dumoulin looked pretty relaxed finishing on his own in GT training mode.

Didn't work out in the end but he's looking strong.

Bernie Eisel had successful brain surgery today after a crash in Tirreno-Adriatico. All the best you handsome Austrian bastard.

Good breakaway and win by De Gendt today.

De Gendt has a podium at the Giro. Why doesn’t he ride for GC in stage races?
Also nice to see a new generation on the podium, some things best left in the past
