  • ^ i'd have it on nds & lever pointing inside frame.

Also worth a plug in the bar end(s).

    The wheel/tyre combo looks ace.

  • Fair enough.

Agreed on the bar plugs. I rode this bike on a whim today and realised I hadn't fitted the plugs when I was already at work.

  • Afterthought... nds for levers might not work well with disc brakes? Too lazy to check my inbred pics from when rear had qr.

  • what rhb said and what rhb said. dont know either if nds works with disc.

  • Roadie etiquette is to run the qr nds and lever forward (into the triangle) so a following rider won’t open the level with their front wheel (as they put their wheel nds to avoid the rear mech).

None of that matters on most disk bikes, so you just want the lever where you can get purchase without getting hot and where it won’t be opened by a tree branch or something.

    tldr: it’s fine.

  • oh yes, sorry, I read bullmoose instead of bullhorn!

  • any reasonable looking bullhorn pomp builds out there i can draw inspiration from?

I might be in the minority here but imo the only 2 circumstances where bullhorns can even hope to look acceptable, never mind 'good' is the anodised grey/brown ones on an old school tt/pursuit build or on a super lightweight hillclimb build.

The pomp is neither of those things.

  • You may well be right. No examples have come forward so far...

  • Hi all,
I've recently inherited what I believe is a 2014 Pompino, but I've been unable to find a specification/geometry sheet anywhere online, would someone be able to provide / direct me in the right direction. Or at the least be able to tell me if a 29" front Hope Pro 4 Tech Enduro MTB will fit.
    Cheers!

  • Does it have a big scratch on the seat tube by the rear wheel?

  • No scratch, its practically new, just missing a front wheel, reason my Dad never rode it. Prefers his 1980s Raleigh

  • Ah ok, I lost one recently waiting for it to surface.

  • Assuming it has the original form then any road wheel will fit, as will any 29er MTB wheel. Assuming in both cases the hub is 100mm oln and takes a regular quick release skewer. Nutted axle front track hubs should work too.

  • Here it is anyway, the front wheel is bent, oval shaped instead of round. Needs a bit of a dust down.

    Hope yours turns up soon!

  • Managed to get some 40 randos on mine

  • whats that fork?

  • Thought I'd pop this here first before going to classifieds. Its a little too big for me. Ive taken stickers off / residue and its ready for paint. Would probably benefit from clear coat on top before exposing to the british summer time.
