Damn, they're nice. How long did it take for them to grow leaves that size?

Ed, I want some. You just live in the wrong ends.
If an opportunity arises, I'm in.
You riding the early morning Sunday thing?

..would love to take some as well alas I'm even further away!
Started with about a dozen different seeds this year, had initial success with a good half of them, alas most of them just don't grow much the last weeks.. I blame the (cheap) "organic" soil I bought at a discounter..

East17 fams.
The biggest were started mid-feb. They were run under led lights for a few weeks to get them to that size at this stage. The big leaves came out this week when they hit the sunshine. The leds kept them stocky as no need to stretch for the light but no substitute for the real thing when the suns out.
There’s also 3” cups and cell trays with later starters. I’ve put them outside for now to soak up the sun but will pop them back under the light if it’s cloudy next weekend.
We have:
Jalapeño - plants
Cherry bomb - plants
Ghost - seedlings
Romainian - plants
Hot wax - seedlings
Friggitello - seedlings
Golden bell - seedlings
Biquinho - seedlingsI probably have 4 of each(inc stuff that germinated today) but will only want one of most and a couple each of the heavy yielding peppers but once I’ve repotted my faves into their final pots the rest will be up for grabs. They can stay in their 1l pots a couple more weeks I reckon.
I’m away this weekend though. -

I can swap you for some tomatoes, basil, possibly a mandarin tree (just started)? I'm also in E17

My chilli kit has produced all 5 seeds. Take it its time to pot these seedlings on?
Any recommendations, pot size, compost and feed? Cheers

Yea you could prick them out now, personally I'd wait a week or two longer 'til they are a bit stronger (though this means you would have to take more care seperating them as their roots may be entangled more then).
If you know already you only want to have, say, three plants in the end just kill the weakest two now.
Buy soil suitable / advertised for tomatoes, it will have suitable fertilizer and fluffiness, the chilies will like it. Preferably organic.
I would pot them in the biggest pots you are comfortable with having around, 10L would be good, more is always better. -

Nice that's great thanks

Reckon it's time to move these to bigger pots? I have no idea what I'm doing.

See two posts above yours.
And yea, bigger pots now, and as much sun as possible.
Water only once the soil goes dry-ish below the surface. -

Ah, you're not a believer in moving them only slowly and gradually from one pot to the next size up? They are only one plant per pot unlike EB's.

I’ve still got stuff in 1l pots that are about 8” tall. They’re doing fine, I’ve got 10l pots for them but I haven’t got round to picking up some more perlite yet

I think both approaches work, but given it's May already I'd just give them the big pots now, so they build a proper root structure now - which they are going to need soon when it gets warm and they are starting to flower (which takes more energy than anything else in their life).
As far as I know moving them up gradually only makes proper sense if you're starting early with artificial light (and if you're doing a lot of plants - they just take up less space : ) -

I did only three on purpose, to see whether you or Tester would be the first to complain

I realise i'd also echoed, must read better.
