Earphones / Headphones: Where to try, what to buy?

Can somebody please recommend some plug-type headphones that

• have a rubber-like plug (or foam / whatever)
  
• keep outside noise (neighbours arguing etc.) out as good as possible
  
• are comfortbale enough to wear long periods of time working / sleeping
  
• don't break the bank (sound quality is not important, will be used for podcasts etc.)
