Anyone maybe musically inclined ever use rack mount cases and if so are there any recommended brands? Obviously I'd like a Peli but don't want to spend £££
Probably 3ru with 2 fixed racks at the bottom and a pull out drawer for a laptop would be amazing. Wheeled, hardened, etc.
Edit: think i'll give this a spin:

How come, when I was a child, everyone was sick on planes all the time, and someone had to use the sick bag on almost every flight? I even remember being sick on planes myself in fact. Nowadays you never see anyone be sick.
Is it that planes are better at avoiding and dealing with turbulence? Is flying just a lot more common, so much so that 99% of passengers on a given flight have flown before and are used to it? Is it something to do with the air or the food?

I'd guess mass psychology

Bigger planes, fly higher, better weather forecasting, detect turbulence better and we've all had more flights thanks to flying being cheap as shit.

In previous days, the seats/carpets were never completely cleaned of butyric acid,
thus priming those more likely to be travel sick to vomit;
https://chronicleflask.com/2014/11/29/butyric-acid-a-very-smelly-molecule/So maybe stain resistant treatments on airline seats/carpets made clean up easier?

Ooh, interesting. That's the stuff they put in American chocolate that makes it taste like vomit. Could definitely imagine that playing a role.
-
• #90708
Yes,
there's a story that the 'first batch' of Hershey chocolate was an attempt to use,
rather throw away/feed to pigs,
some milk that had turned.
Resulted in that distinctive 'twang' of Hersheys that is such a shock to those raised on Cadbury's Dairy Milk. -

Or a more plausible explanation of the Hershey Process:

Window handles that use a key to lock rather than just a thumb switch, what's the point? Stop kids opening them?
-
• #90713
Im using some opensource libraries in a project at work, I only have to publish the code if I make changes to the libraries. Right?

It's so the burglars can't get out after they've got in.
Errr ...
-
• #90715
Kidnapping maybe?
-
• #90716
Yeah deffo to stop the kiddies - ours open fully inside, are easy to climb to and it’s a long way down from the top floor. They have key locks.
-
• #90717
Yeah figured. Do they all use the same keys do you know? Need to replace 4 handles and would be irritating if they all had their own key.

Bathroom letterbox ones are different but the rest are the same.

Good or shit?

Now consigned to "Eroica" bikes and weird rando types on Instagram; what do you reckon?
-
• #90721
Hmm. I want maximum clearance with a normal road caliper central bolt/nut thing (I believe that's the technical term)
Edit: maybe I want Tektro R539s, they clear a 35mm-ish:
Edit: duh, clearly I need Paul Racers

Another US holiday question from me...
Does anyone have any suggestions for where to go in June for a weekend, that's easily travellable from NYC? Ideally lakes / sea.
The Hamptons is the obvious choice, but prices are astronomical, and after driving through off-season I was a bit underwhelmed... it's like Cobham crossed with Poole beach.... although if that was 2hrs from London and had guaranteed sun, it would pretty sweet so maybe I take that back.
Jersey shore and Cape Cod were the other thoughts.
Cheers.

All in our place used the same key.

Tektro is the sensible choice. Aesthetics are the only reason to look elsewhere.
Those Dia-Compe 750 Centre Pulls can be made to function with the right pads, set up and some motivation.
Gran Compe 610 are the bling choice.
Cheers!
