In previous days, the seats/carpets were never completely cleaned of butyric acid,
thus priming those more likely to be travel sick to vomit;

How come, when I was a child, everyone was sick on planes all the time, and someone had to use the sick bag on almost every flight? I even remember being sick on planes myself in fact. Nowadays you never see anyone be sick.
Is it that planes are better at avoiding and dealing with turbulence? Is flying just a lot more common, so much so that 99% of passengers on a given flight have flown before and are used to it? Is it something to do with the air or the food?
