  • Ha, very good point!

“I’ve watched a lot of shroud, it’s kinda rubbed off...”

You’d deserve more shit over that but you did have some bloody impressive kills.

  • Shroud's like one my best friends.

  • VSS 100% my new fav weapon. Either the players I was shooting were complete idiots (possible given their behaviour) or it's utterly silent.

I was squadding and in the hills by ruins on the old map looking back to the edge of the zone which was by school. Car drives over the hill and 4 occupants get out and have a little battle with someone I couldn't see as they were behind the ledge. I shoot the wheels out of the car so they'll have to run towards me across loads of empty space and start pot shotting - way too far to be effective but it's fun and figure they'll realise where I am and I can whip out the unsilenced SCAR when they're closer. But they never cottoned on.

They're panicking and looking in every direction. Stupidly my one surviving team mate thinking I'm covering him runs out to their car that I've already shot the wheels out of. He gets in and they fire on it, blowing it up almost instantly. There are still four left and now they start running across the plain as the blue is closing in. They still have no idea where I am and as they get closer I start getting more accurate - 1 knock, 2 knocks, figure I'm not going to survive so turn the knocks into kills. 1 third knock and the last guy is practically on top of me at this stage and still no idea where he is. Figure the VSS is even worse in cqb than the SCAR so I switch and finish him and his knocked compadre.

That they didn't hear a silenced weapon AT ALL is one thing but to not even assess where the bullets are landing (i.e. they're behind a ridge and I'm hitting the far side of the ridge, they HAD to be able to deduce a general direction... esp when they saw my teammate leave cover on his suicide run.

  • Going in again because it's 18 degrees out and sunny and I've given up on today.

  • VSS 100% my new fav weapon. Either the players I was shooting were complete idiots (possible given their behaviour) or it's utterly silent.

same, it's the only way i get kills these days

  • I’m working from home tomo.

  • Might be home alone next tues-fri...

  • Recently got back into Planetside2.

Great fun having battles wih 100+ people per side, everything exploding on screen and dieing every 5 seconds post spawn.

    Love it.

  • I’m in.

    Wear something nice.

  • Wish I recorded that:

Was fully kitted out with full SKS and M416 etc but had emergency call. Went out to take it and came back to see someone in level 3 gear crouched in front of me aiming an m16 at my head. They changed to a Kar and I saw them look down the scope and line up. I took the opportunity to side step and shoot them. They must have been there for ages, maybe even talking to me asking if I was there.

I was still there looting them when their teammate ran in. 2 kills. 3rd teammate grenaded me but I would have been happy to have died after the first kill.

  • Started playing farcry 5 and the unskippable mostly video start is like an hour long.

  • ha! good to know - thinking of picking it up for the fly fishing : /

  • Tedious. Hope the game is worth tolerating that.

After Half Life managed to introduce the game with that train ride into Black Mesa, then tell the story with no video cut scenes why do games still use sloppy video intros?

(I do forgive Dark Souls lore intro though since it is short and the game is so awesome)

  • Also, I'd be disappointed in an MGS game if it didn't start with a 40 minute cutscene...

  • The latest in a series/genre of run around shooting at stuff. Games like that don't need to be very good to satisfy.

  • Had Farcry sitting around for the best part of a week - just haven't found time to jump in. Already having my head turned by the God of War hype, which would probably also find itself in a similar fate.

  • Blood Dragon is definitely worth picking up though.

  • Far Cry 5's good fun. Not particularly fussed about the actual storyline but the characters are decent and missions varied enough. Has the usual ubisoft trope of capturing enemy bases, but also makes an early joke about not making you climb towers all over the place this time.

The map feels very cramped after Assassin's Creed. I get why they've done that, but sometimes it would be nice to have a bit of a wander without shit happening every 30 seconds.

  • still not unboxed ps4.

  • See you in a couple weeks!

    #getvr

  • I'd do it sooner than when you actually want to play. Updates are a fucker.
Same goes for the games you want to play.

  • Satellite Reign free on Humble at the moment, definitely worth picking up!

  • The Humble comic Bundle is gaming focused too

  • This is also a book bundle worth picking up: https://www.humblebundle.com/books/game-studies-books
