PF30 right? If you’ve got the alu press in cups you can swap out the bearings with whatever BB30 bearing you like.

Yeah that's the one.

Is there any point going for a significant upgrade? pretty sure the ones in there are over 5000km old and have only just started making a cracking noise under load

I like the Wheels Manufacturing PF30 BBs. The two halves screw together and provide a much more secure base for the bearings than two separate press fit shells.
