Obviously it's not going to stop someone with full bolt croppers, but 2m of 3mm stainless wire rope is about 70-80g, plus a small luggage lock and it'll roll up small enough to be packed just about anywhere. Going upto 5mm wire is about 190g. I think I'm going to get one for my upcoming tour, it's certainly a lot better than going without.
