The colonnade hotel. Was the Esplanade hotel, and before that a hospital for Women when Turing was born there. Prior to that an Girls school, and before that a pair of houses.
Legend has it it uses one of the oldest working Lifts in the U.K. oh and Sigmund Freud spent a summer there.

Are you suggesting Freud had a thing about lifts?

I was fully signed up to that ride but ended up in hospital all night just prior looking after a friend who'd fell over and bashed his head a metal kick plate at the base of a door. It looked a lot worse than it was and after some mopping up and a couple of stitches he was alright to go home. Though when the doctor looking to discharge him asked if there were some sensible adults at home, he being in early 20's and suffering a significant head injury, he replied, "yeah I live with a few people, though they're mostly drug dealers. But nice ones!"
Tragically he passed away in an accident a year or so later.

I seem to think that the new one is a retag.
Or it is one I've been meaning to tag for ages and haven't managed to.
-
• #20291
Either way it's a smashing photo. I like the train becoming a building roof.
-
• #20292
It's a retag, unfortunately, as your photo is much better than mine was. https://www.lfgss.com/comments/13912599/

Ouch. Shit luck. By 'accident' do you mean a car crash or some non-traffic kind of accident?
I think we have to do another one of those, although, while I'm happy to tag along as a non-maths geek, I'd feel a fraud for organising one. Perhaps Object could be persuaded to come out of retirement briefly.

Just demonstrated how much of a maths geek I am by getting the year of the ride wrong. Fixed.

I didn't recognise where it was immediately despite the Eurostar in the picture. So, yes, it looks as if the now-revealed old tag is still active and either Ru quickly posts another new tag or someone retagzumps him. :)

He was into making things, small scale engineering and electronics. As part of the hobby/lifestyle he lived communally in a converted warehouse.
He had gone to sleep and left a tin of strong glue open. Overnight he asphyxiated.
The details are a little second hand but it was recorded as mis-adventure.
And as it happens I'm off to the history of computing museum today.

old; Colonnade Hotel blah blah blah
new; If we're on the topic of columns then I think this one is in order.
Since the weather's nice I thought I'd make it easy ;)

Ah bollocks....thought that might happen. Need to learn to upload photos from my phone!
Yeah, and the clue isn't helping...
