Spare everything, because obviously packing spare wheels would mean that I don't have a wheel issue I have a bar issue or something.

David langlands put a minutiae into me. With a super quick long 51 around the e33/21. He’s on another level this year. I’m on the same level!
Hopefully pull a ride out next weekend at bucs 25. -

E33/25, Shirley? I was going to take part, but I've decided to do some altitude training (and wining and dining) in Switzerland instead.

Ah yeah. Not sure why I typed 1!

I rode the BDCA 25 as expected, like it was a 30, by taken the wrong exit and doing a u-turn at almost every RAB. It was a glorious display of my old time trialing self. When #60 went past me (I'm #75) and then went a different direction I just sat up and shrugged at the marshal. Classic lost hippy.

Bad luck - a long way to go to get lost!
If it helps, the only time I rode the A50 course I started by going wrong at the very first roundabout, about 10 seconds after starting. I missed the sharp left, as I couldn't believe it was that sharp, and did a bonus lap of the RAB to catch it second time round. -

I went into it knowing I was going to be sub-par so it was basically race-pace testing of my near gearing setup, which worked well. We then did a pub crawl and explored the Peak District a bit so it wasn't a bad trip :)
That sharp left, yep, that's where my race went downhill from. 400W -> 0W -> 500W #propacing

Found one of my Shiv centre-pull fork-mount type brake calipers. Anyone looking for one?

Next 25mi on Apr 28th. Short of eating nothing but EPO and the blood of virgins for two weeks, what else can I do to go faster (without pedaling harder or faster, obviously, coz that's like hard work and shit)?
I've got a waxed chain I will use if the weather is ok.
Use turbo cotton rear vs. new Corsa Speed rear tyre on the disc wheel?
Slam stem and hope glutes don't explode?

Pay to the weather gods.
Sacrifice a bicycle to the weather gods. -

All my bikes are constantly sacrificed to the weather gods. Soggy feckin' Britain.
Washed the Tripster and the crank creak went away so now I think it might be grit behind the chainrings and not a loose lockring though can't be sure until inspection. I've just ordered a 46T to go on it so I will clean it up and fill any gaps with grease or something.

Are you still using the Javelin? Go down a size
-
• #17464
Yes, I have large and med Javs and use the smaller.
Which reminds me, anyone want a large Javelin? :) -

Clean and polish the TT bike

It's always sparkly clean (I mean, when it's not been hung up gathering dust for 2 years).

Pray for a light north westerly.

"light" anything would be better than what it usually is :)

At some point I'm going to have to stop trying to start doing my long distance shit again, which is going to hamper things a bit. It'd be nice if I could blat those 3 seconds away.
I wanna do some more testing and see what that fashionable arms up position does for me, but it's a bit late in the day to be changing stuff around now.

Low pressure would be better.

I'd have thought you'd be lighter, fitter and probably faster in June/July, no?
-
• #17472
Yes, but I'm racing ultras in summer so any 25mi training disappears. I've only got May to nail it.
At least until I come back after the TCR and smash a PB with no training like 2016 :)

Stuck an entry in for the ECCA 100. Doubt I'll have any form but we'll see. Love a 100.

Also, was looking for a race on the 21/22 July, to see what I've got. What would be the best course that weekend, I guess R25/3h?

F15/10 meant to be alright if you don't want to travel as far. Or the E2 50?
Don't forget your spare wheels!
