It's all become clear now. I thought you lived in London as we met in Bethnal Green many moons ago.

I live in Fulham. I ride to Woking. Did you buy my Surly? If so, still regret selling that.
-
• #2559
Yes and then let my colleague talk me into buying it off me almost immediately (which I also massively regret and think about a lot!)
-
• #2560
Ah no! It was so good. Did some great rides on that bike. I literally instantly regretted it. I love how this thread has just become a thread for chatting shit about bikes.

In fairness the Pacer doesn't have disc brakes...
-
• #2562
What I'm learning from this thread and other threads is that loads of forumengers do audaxes
-
• #2565
So the missus can use it as well.

• #2566
why what?
edit - i see now. My bad.

When is the realisation that the Canyon is the one bike to do it all?
-
• #2568
one bike to do it all
This will never ever happen, ever.
-
• #2569
Well I'm biased as I'm only allowed one bike.
Do you have helitape on the canyon at bag contact points?
-
• #2570
yeah loads of helitape everywhere :)
more bikes are fun, my collection has gotten out of hands but I guess I could do with 5.
Road bike which doubles up as light tourer and fair weather audax
Cross/Off road-ish bike
Audax bike which doubles as commuter when I can lock it securely and can be toured on
Beater
Brompton
DBAD which is just good #contentI should really get rid of the fixie.

Matt or Gloss??
I'm envious of how well your off the peg bag fits!!True, I'm pretty happy with the choice I made at the moment though.

• #2573
wait until you discover MTB is fun
-
• #2574
MTB is a logistical nightmare, I dont drive and hate taking trains in the morning although kinda getting used to it due to early audax starts.
Plus I lack the skills.
But I am open to the idea as it gives me more avenues to buy stuff!

You're gonna love Santa Cruz then.
Even a rigid 29er is so much more capable than these 35-40mm tyred 'gravel' bikes and loads more fun.
Nope. If I am going somewhere, I'll either be going with my girlfriend who doesn't cycle, or be wearing clothes that are not bicycle appropriate. I also work in Woking, so I rarely head into town on weekdays anymore. Riding into town on a Saturday is not something I would want to do.
