Spoke to one of the guys coaching the kids football at Agnes on Sunday. He was not particularly happy about us being there and kept asking what time we would be leaving. What he said was that the courts were for the community and the kids from the local area and we were coming from outside the local area to use the courts, meaning locals couldn't. Whilst on the whole I thought he was pretty unreasonable in his approach, and there was hardly anyone about and we were sharing the court at the time, I think it's worth bearing in mind his comments and remembering that there is a lot of place based politics surrounding gentrification which can make people very protective of their public spaces. I think we should keep using the court, but should just be extra specially careful to make sure we are sharing it and being respectful so as to build up a good long-term relationship with locals.
