I think it’s safe to say I have no idea what I want. Very much an n+1 bike which may or may not happen.

I'm running an ally one of these set up for off road and a carbon one (£400 more) set up for wet road (full guards) - oh the joys of cyclescheme.

you can fit 28s/30s in most road frames nowadays. Isn't that just what you want?
