mac mini to do basic photo editing (lightroom), run a slide show and web browsing.
It's the top of the range model and I believe has 8gb of RAM
you will do fine with 8gb

Cut your nails more often.
I've done it to my old work Macbook Pro and Mrs BQ has done it to her macbook, so it must be fairly common.

Where's the cheapest place to pick up a magic mouse 2? My other half is in desperate need to free her from the claw trying to use the track pad on the macbook to get through the end of her Master's.

Could she get away with a bluetooth PC mouse? I use a wireless one from a pc on my older macs and it is fine.
If she is getting wrist problems could a mouseball be better? Actually I have an external mac magic track pad somewhere. Would that help?

Have you investigated any further or fund other deals? I also need to replace the screen on my MacBook Pro 13” 2013 and I am starting to think about doing it myself. Looks like cheapest full screen sells for min £200

Is there an Ifixit video?
What is the screen id number? Same screen type can be fitted to other macbooks either older or newer and then try and see if there are any for sale with good screens but other things damaged and then swap them over.

Yes ifixit video and plenty other on YouTube, does not look to complicated. But as mine is a A1425 (retina) I don't think that the screen from another model would be compatible. I think that I need to stay within that serie, which is late 2012 early 2013. But I am keeping an eye on damaged macbook...

Plenty of cool stuff at NAB this year but figured @chrisbmx116 etc would be most interested in:

I noticed in the release notes of the last update for High Sierra there was a mention if egpu support.

When I got to the office today my mail account (gapps for biz or whatever it's called these days) had been inactivated on my imac. I reactivated it but the folders are all messed up and it's saving drafts where it shouldn't be/ got loads of drop down mailboxes that weren't there etc. Can't remember/be bothered to remember how I set it up in the first place so looking at OSX mail clients. There's nothing provided by google that I can see in the app store - or am I wrong?
What's good? Last time I used something other than Mail or a browser based client was probably Thunderbird or whatever it was about 10 years ago.

I think it's more likely that as a windows keyboard user he's used to battering long throw keys. I used to share a desk with someone who was migrating from Windows to Mac and the whole
deskoffice shook constantly whilst he typed. -

you don't need to use High Sierra for eGPU support. I'm running Sierra and (after some helpful advice from @chrisbmx116) my laptop is happily driving a watercooled GTX1080Ti over TB2, housed in an Aikito Node Pro.
Edit: it's not small though. About the size of a mini PC :(

OH BOY... lets see some pics...
And good point, you can run an eGPU with the last couple of macOS too, HS breaks built in TB2 support but there is already a script to re enable.
I'm itching to get a new enclosure, Akitio build quality is great, and the new Asus looks decent too.... off to post a for sale thread.

I expect it would perform about 20% better over TB3 but here're the cinebench scores

So i've managed the close my MacBooks lid with a USB thing in between and it's broken something.
Any idea if this is a problem with the LCD panel or the glass? I'm hoping the less expensive one.

Anyone?

I’ve bought individual keys from eBay a few times
I'd certainly try. 10 months isn't reasonable for the thing to start failing.
