Just came here to post that. A real shame.
Illness is such a ball ache. Especially so as a pro getting paid £££. Wonder if he over did the training. Hope he bounces back, physically and mentally. -

I’d say no, given the quality of the field, but the Delhi race in 2010 was a great watch. Akin to seeing a 3/J race on the telly, everyone attacking like they were racing for an hour.

Mate, for someone who prides themselves in having a lot of experience in PR you seem to have little awareness of how some of your posts come across. That original post was terribly elitist and frankly quite nasty but hey continue as you were.

Quite enjoyed the last 40km of the road race. Good result for John Mould.
Apparently the winner gets 50 UCI points more than Kuurne Brussels Kuurne.

Why would they get uci points when it isnt a uci race? It's not open to everyone to enter.
-
• #16432
In theory no UCI race is open to everyone to enter, i.e. you have to be a UCI license holder issued by an affiliated federation.
There are a significant number of races which award UCI points where there are entry criteria based on nationality or rankings, i.e. national championships, continental championships etc, up to and including the Worlds and Olympics.

What he said.
Today I’d like to see anyone but Valverde win. Not sure the new finish of Amstel really suits him anyway. I fancy Benoot to go long and set up Wellens to win from a small bunch.
And it’s Tro Bro Leon too which is always a good spectacle and seems to live on Eurosport.

I'm hoping for Tankink to do a Hayman. It's his last season and with 2 pro wins in 18 years of racing this would be a nice way to go out. Slim chance, though.

Good too see Hass at the sharp end today after the talk of him recently.
Edit: wait, was I watching last years one or something? It's too early to finish now. Thanks Eurosport.

was I watching last years one or something?
Heh, yes. They've shown it twice today already!
-
• #16437
LOL.
Classic :)

• #16438
Where's the coverage of the women's race at?
-
• #16439
Finished about ten mins ago
-
• #16440
Wait. They are showing it AGAIN.

Ah man Carlton is ‘commentating’.
I need to find another place to watch cycling. Are there any other good English language streams?
-
• #16442
Brian smith giving some interesting info on the race, and carlton just starts laughing over him at some bullshit.
-
• #16443
Ah what great racing this is! Fantastic.
-
• #16444
Great ride by Dunbar today. Fuck riding that course on a 1x setup.
-
• #16445
Everyone desperate to shell Sagan. He looks massive next to all the others.
Edit - apart from Lurch (Roompot).
-
• #16446
Changing the course away from the Cauberg was such a great decision
-
• #16447
Sagan not working for no fool. Sucking on his bottle at 900 metres to go proved that.
-
• #16448
Sagan drinking his bidon was great, really was trolling the other riders. Fair play to Valgren, good ride.
-
• #16449
Superb bike racing.
Fuglsang/Valgren combo was perfection. It almost cured me of my hangover -
• #16450
When did trolling become the new winning?
Valgren (and Astana) was stronger than Sagan and the rest of the bunch, that’s it.Makes me smile that Sagan eventually made his fans believe that when he doesn’t win is just because he decided to make some one elses loose 😂
Commonwealth games Road Race - is it worth watching?
