Oh really? I just assumed they'd be great.
-
• #429
yeah, I think they might be in the future, but they're just not very well developed at the mo. they've only been doing it a year or so compared to decades and decades for the bags

I've taken plenty of photos of the destruction of hotel rooms. I think you're missing out.

It's just half a sleeping bag. How can they fuck it up?

• #432
it needs to be 3/4 of a sleeping bag to keep you warm !

Looking for a sleeping bag to use during the TCR. Would this one suffice? https://www.carinthia.eu/bags/en/shop/Sleeping-Bag/G+90/?card=1765&variant[0]=L&variant[1]=RIGHT
Looks roomy (I dont like tight mummy bags) and still lightweight and small when packed. -
• #443
that looks pretty useless for the money.
get a down bag with 800 or higher fill power from: PHD, Marmot, Montbell, Western Mountaineering, etc

Synthetic is usually terrible at packing down it's size compared to down.
I'd get https://www.aliexpress.com/item/AEGISMAX-UltraLight-90-White-Duck-down-sleeping-bag-camping-Envelope-type-sleeping-bag-Ourdoor-and-Family/32816564345.html but some TCR racers only take a bivvy and a silk liners as you're likely to be very warm most of the time. -

Will soon be shifting a North face Blue KAzoo if that's of any interest to anyone. warm 3 season bag, packs down pretty good.

Looking for recommendations for a sleeping bag for cycle touring. Will be almost exclusively used in summer. Needs to be synthetic rather than down. I don't want to spend loads if I can avoid it. What should I be looking at? I don't even necessarily know what qualities to be looking out for really!

Just had my first nap in my Zajo Venture -5 this morning in what will unfortunately be it's most common setting.
I work away a lot and tend to take ferries when I can so I can cart along bikes and tools and whatnot so I left the house at 0400 this morning to drive to Belfast for 0730 boat, had breakfast as soon as I got on and then into my bag for a snooze. It was spectacular, I expected to roast but I left the baffle undone and the side zip a little opened and I was perfectly cosy! I'm looking forward to testing it in colder conditions now but it's a very very cosy bag!
