I'm "poor" and have managed to collect 4 bikes. "Nice" (by my standards) road/gravel/tourer/whatever, "nice" MTB, POS monstour commuter, POS singlespeed commuter/pub bike (one POS has racks/mudguards/etc. for when it's horrible weather and I need to carry shit, the other has nothing at all)
Edit: but maybe I'd be better off riding one nice bike instead of 4 mediocre ones made out of second hand bits. Meh
Edit: sorry for the derail (in this thread, lol), the Canyon's nice.

the Canyon looks nice man

Yeah, guess so. I dunno though - since I've got the Talbot I haven't even looked at groupsets, new wheels, nothing. I'm just so content with what I have that I haven't yearned for anything. I couldn't even tell you what R**** numbers are assigned to which Shimano group now, which is unusual for me... Yes it's a little heavy sometimes but whatevs. It's amazing.

But can you lock it up thoooo?
EDIT: And it still be there when you get back.

Yes, my offices have secure bike parking. I wouldn't ever need to lock it up on the street because I do not ride anywhere for social occasions and haven't done for quite some time. I don't even take a cheap lock when audaxing but I think I'll probably start taking one of those retractable cable locks this year for 200k+ rides.

But how many bikes did you have before that?

Amey is the 'pay someone else to do it' camp rather than DIY I feel.
Victorian passive house project, maybe.
-
• #2548
it's only dead if you're a massochist who uses these and waits 2hrs to get your house about as warm as scunthorpe in a december rainstorm

• #2549
given the Canyon purchase, maybe a prefab german house delivered on a truck

Amey is the 'pay someone else to do it' camp
100%
I'd rather up my day rate than waste time and resources into learning and making errors.
Strictly android. Apple only when someone else is paying.
