With the 42 ring up front and an 11-25 for general around town riding, then yes will be in the middle majority of time.
If i want to take the bike further afield will switch out for 11-32/36, which will put me in the 'third quarter' of cassette, out of necessity to get the upper range.
However, It is quite likely I would just keep the larger cassette on all the time (because lazy).
