Those are long blades/arm and got used to the 2 fingers compact levers.

Pretty sure I got my Deore M615 for less than 30.

And the noticeable hike also for SLX and XT.

I don't recall it being cheap in the first place, but the Shimano Acera BR-M395 is usually cheap and readily avaliable;
