  • That fucking rhyme is going to be in my head until the next time I get drunk

  • Well, he's just posted a response!

    https://www.strava.com/athletes/461616/posts/1782954

It's kinda interesting how he does not say "I do not take banned substances and performance enhancing drugs".

  • And how he titles the post "come at me" then ends it with "I sincerely hope you'll take this post in the spirit its intended" eh...

It's intended to be confrontational, defiant and inflammatory?

  • Should have gone with:

Finally, the last thing I’ll say to the people who don’t believe in cycling, the cynics and the sceptics: I'm sorry for you. I’m sorry that you can’t dream big. I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

  • Trolls

    GUILTY BURN HIM

  • "I did not have sexual relations with that blood bag"

  • "Never failed a test"

  • In that case, I would still feel that it was absolutely humiliating for the person to be doping in a race that I could qualify for. What is the fucking point!?

I'm definitely not saying that amateur dopers should not be investigated, punished, or banned.

What I'm saying is, anyone who dopes at a level that I could compete in is a pathetic idiot, and the vilification and humiliation you should get for being that pathetic is surely even worse than being banned, or certainly taking part and losing clean.

  • Well yes, I too fail to see the point in 'winning' by cheating. It must be totally hollow.
I get why pros do it - keep a job, etc. but amateurs is just loopy. But they still do and I still want them caught and removed from my sport. Yeah, the humiliation must be pretty bad but I still want the bans and result adjustments, etc. I'm selfish though, if I lose to someone faster that's fine but not if they took a shortcut or something - cheat me and I want them hounded out of the sport for good.

  • Looks like they psychos and I doubt very much they would follow your reasoning. Strange times, maybe reread Schnitzler’s Leutnant Gustl?

  • This guy probably enjoys having his 'Lance Armstrong moment' of rebutting his critics. If you're hollow enough to cheat in amateur leagues as a senior to feel like you're more 'pro' than everyone else then you'll be more likely to embrace the idea that the notoriety and attention garnered in publicly denying it as part of that mystical pro status too.

Going by the company he keeps it looks like they'll be delighted to be considered London's Poundland version of Rock Racing

  • Any cheating is pathetic. At any level. Doesn’t make it any less wrong. I work my arse off, just as much as any pro. To not be able to win because someone cheated is shit.

  • That Ellerton fella who got banned for 2 years for prednisone/ prednisolone continued to post on strava etc 5.5 W/kg etc on his rides but got dogs abuse constantly. Think he may have deleted his account now.

Not sure if he had to forfeit his £25 prize money also.

  • Just seen he put in a hour shift at 340w yesterday. I did a shift at 300w and that was enough.
    Nuts.

  • A full course of EPO is going to give a 10-15% boost in power, so even if he is doping, he's got a decent engine already.

  • Not many people would go out and knock out an hour at 340w. Would put threshold around 370ish.

    He’s got an engine indeed.

  • Football is clean its all OK guyz

  • At 69kg.

Sigh. Maybe I should've ordered the half rack of ribs...

  • A club member was poached by RPR a while back, rode with them for a while, benefited from their suppport but started to miss training sessions (at 5.45am might I add) and stopped enjoying the riding and decided to leave. Like any good cult, its tricky to leave and the Arlen fella in question was particularly nasty, to a 19yo mind. The instagram posts by the accuser are quite good, best to keep them private though, with court cases ensuing.

  • So I’m going to have to find them myself? FFS.

  • Surely puts his FTP at 340w?

Edit: that was his sweetspot effort. Yikes.

  • I meant the IG posts. I’m injured and bored. A good online barney would cheer me right up.

  • No. There's no way you'd be riding an hour at FTP 2 days after a 350tss road race. As I said, I did 1h at 300w, which wasn't particularity difficult, but not a cake walk either. My ftp is around 350.

So to do 340, you'd be looking around 370 real ftp.
