All the Italian design houses are famous for recycling ideas if the original client didn't buy it.

Mk 1 golf is way better than 2!
E30- you could argue that the 2002 is the Gen 1 and I'd take a 2002 over an e30

Can I go even further and say the mk3 polo was the best one?

Saw a Diablo going N on Kingsland rd out of my bedroom window yesterday morning.
Had a smile on my face the rest of the day just thinking about it. Feels silly but I was explaining to my wife I feel like there's tiers of seeing a "supercar" or rare car.
- See it at a show
- See it parked or driving in the vicinity of a major motorsport event
- See it in W London or cruising on the motorway
4a. See it out of your bedroom window driving past your house
4b. See it being driven hard out in the wild
Up there with the Diablo spot is when I was walking to Liverpool St station at about 03:30 with a punctured tub about 7 or 8 years ago. Empty London roads, a rare moment where the majority of London was silent, and an original 911 came past doing probably double the limit, engine singing, and just caught the massive grin on the driver's face.

I've seen the Tron car in Acton. Quite a few of those Dubai plate Knightsbridge supercars seem to end up parked on Uxbridge Rd for some reason. Out in the Chilterns there's normally a Ferrari or two doing hot laps if the weather is nice. Ridden past quite a few Lambos in central London. They're too big to drive around slower traffic so they tend to be stuck in it :)

No you couldn't... E21
True, but that example kind of proves the point. A more pure design than the e30 -

by mk3, do you mean a 2F?
-
• #41894
Of course! Much prettier.

A long time ago I was sitting outside the Duke of Hamilton pub (as was) in Hampstead, and a chap drove up the hill and reverse parked into a very tight spot outside the New End Theatre next door (as was) in a red Lamborghini Countach QV5000. Nailed it first time, like a boss. We clapped as he walked past, he nodded laconically. Dude.

Sorry, but it sounds like you're the sort of person who thinks The Terminator is better than T2 just because it was the first.
I can't talk to you.

And yellow! Love yellow Ferraris for some reason.
Best spot ever was walking by Morgate in the mid '00s and seeing a navy blue GTO. Dude looked pretty content sitting in traffic.
Wasn’t it actually a joint project between VW and Porsche? I read somewhere that VW bailed on it in favour of the Scirocco
