In that case, I would still feel that it was absolutely humiliating for the person to be doping in a race that I could qualify for. What is the fucking point!?
I'm definitely not saying that amateur dopers should not be investigated, punished, or banned.
What I'm saying is, anyone who dopes at a level that I could compete in is a pathetic idiot, and the vilification and humiliation you should get for being that pathetic is surely even worse than being banned, or certainly taking part and losing clean.

Well yes, I too fail to see the point in 'winning' by cheating. It must be totally hollow.
I get why pros do it - keep a job, etc. but amateurs is just loopy. But they still do and I still want them caught and removed from my sport. Yeah, the humiliation must be pretty bad but I still want the bans and result adjustments, etc. I'm selfish though, if I lose to someone faster that's fine but not if they took a shortcut or something - cheat me and I want them hounded out of the sport for good.
What if you busted a gut to get top-20, but missed it by a place to a doper?
