its a total thread de-railer

I was picking up the ‘why don’t Shimano do a 1x groupset’ argument from further up.
If the remove the front derailleur, I won’t have any home mechanic skills as far as gears go. Indexing rear mechs is basically witchcraft.

Indexing rear mechs is basically witchcraft.
The pro technique:
- shift to top gear/smallest sprocket
- detach cable
- adjust limit screw until the chain just shifts onto second smallest sprocket
- reattach cable at normal human hand tension (don't use a cable puller and be gentle if you're the Hulk)
- readjust limit screw
It should be nearly perfectly indexed.
I much prefer doing the rear than the front (chortle)
- shift to top gear/smallest sprocket

I like them, cable tension is set with an Allen key. No need for barrel adjuster.

Absolute nemesis. Never got that stupid trimming right

that is bs on both counts. having used both since they were available.

12 speed is cool and everything but Campag needs to fire their graphic designer.

Love that crank

I know I'm well behind the times on this but I've just found out that you can't retro-fit flat mount calipers to post mount and the new 105 group is flat mount only. Thanks, Shimano.

flat mount
That is the Shimano way for road bikes going forward, after the design wars of early road disc bikes Shimano has spoken and standards have settled. Flat mount and 12mm thru axle. Buying a post mount bike is kinda like buying a rim brakes bike now.
Now its up to someone like Sram to come up with 2nd wave of some bullshit American marketing standard to stir things up.

The different sized holes in the shifters bug me, as does the lower case Rs in SUPEr rECOrD.

Curious they've stuck with the horizontal thumb buttons.

Fuck me that’s an ugly looking groupset.
Plus everybody loves a front mech that barely clears a 25mm tyre:

Supposedly it will clear 32s

• #6420
Isn't that why people buy Campagnolo?
-
• #6421
By moving the clamping bolt on the other side. That will move the cable by a few mm but the ugly/dated long swinging arm will always be there no?
I would like to see it happening. -

Disappointed there's no 54/42 with a straight through 11-21 with bailout 23t to be honest.
-
• #6423
On 11-21 and 12 speed, which duplicate gear would you prefer to have?
Edit: got it, “plus 23t”

I once rode a 10spd Campag 12-23 cassette for quite a few months with two 14t sprockets before I realised.
