It's the rearlightcable (through the rack) from the frontdynamo.

Strange, it was working when I put it up. It's these: https://www.skibartlett.com/ski-equipment-c1/avalanche-safety-c11/transceivers-shovels-probes-c41/scott-ski-strap-tie-rubber-orange-p1410
If you hunt around you should be able to find some.

Currently building an old lugged mtb into a fun times adventure bike on a student budget, anyone have a lead on a cheap dirt drops with a 25.4 clamp diameter or am I doomed to shell out for Nitto? (Nitto are great obvs, but i've got the rest of the build for like $70 so the handlebar alone doubles the cost)

Would it be more effective to get a cheap road handlebar that's in 44cm?

Nobody needs dirt drops. Get some nice humpert city bars for €10 and still be on trend

Did planet X ever make their midge bars with 25.4 clamp? Might be able to hunt some down for a tenner. Alternatively I have some in 31.8 (black)

Google ‘north road’ handlebars. These are the type used on some Dutch and town bikes. Try lbs bargain bins. Sometimes they’re steel (no bad thing).
They work great as dirt drops when flipped.

They work great as dirt drops when flipped.
Sometimes... they were ugly as sin on my bike. Though maybe the all-round ugliness of the rest of it was a factor in that.

Less flare would've worked better.

Suitably hideous. Just needs some fruity bar tape.

It had yellow/black camo on it which was horrendous. But that came off and I've got MTB locking grips now

My One one Midge bar has a 25.4mm clamp. Too bad those bars have such short drops, when extended with bar end shifters they work for my hands but flare out like shit..

Cor what a beaut.

Looks great, I doubt you'll be able to use mini-v brakes sadly those brake mounts look narrow. Also I can't remember who but someone makes a screw on do-dab for that old style light mount so you can use modern lights.

@TM @spotter cheers guys, paints not pristine but will hopefully come up okay after a touch up and Tcut. I'd like 32mm tyre clearance with guards so fingers crossed.
Love the CdF but want to try narrower tyres and something more traditional tourer/road orientated. Hadn't specially wanted mini V's but will have more questions I'm sure as inexperienced with cantis. Glad it's got the functional blessing.
You can buy them from charlie the bike monger but these look like they would do the job for cheaper: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scott-Scot-209154-Ski-Strap-Tie-Rubber-Orange-/302280962217
