Mine's definitely set up more "road" I guess - got the frame cheap off eBay, a L would prob also be fine but a M would have too short a reach I think

Depends what stem length you like. I always prefer a longer stem, makes the bike handle more to my preference. So I’ve got a 120 on my medium
-
• #3504
Make sense, I have put back a 90mm stem on it as the 100mm was a tad too long, was surprise how the bike now handle a little better (considering that the Arkose were design with short stem in mind).

Bought a dolan frameset but tire clearance wasn't the best, website says 32mm max.
Looking for a new frame now, been looking for a Fuji jari forever now but can't find the frame set within EU.Found this on ebay and am very tempted and buy full carbon fork on eBay also. Then i should have a sub 2kg frameset that can take pretty large tyres, https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gravel-frame-aluminium-BSA-68mm-Flat-Mount-disc-size-51-M-RIDEWILL-BIKE-advent/332599740811?hash=item4d707d498b:g:A70AAOSwGW9auk19

Maybe check if it can take 650b tyres? reckon you can squeeze 42mm, or even 47mm.

Dolan missed a trick with these. The carbon GX1 looks alright, again not really much room for big 650bs due to the stay shaping.
Have you seen the CNC bike Gravel One?
Steel. Nice though.

For a gravelpacking bike that’ll also be a audax/club run road bike, would the hive mind go 1x with the long rear mech, or 2x with a long rear mech? I don’t have enough room for a third bike, so I’m looking to build something that’ll replace my audax bike but that can handle reasonably bad terrain. The alternative is to lose my fixie but I like it too much for commuting/training.

What spread does the audax have now?
If you are not going to be fast chainganging / road racing then you can get a usable and reasonably close gear range with 44t 11-36.
2x won't exactly hinder you on gravel tho and is probably better on a 1 bike solution.
Depending on budget that new Ultegra clutch mech could be a good fix for chain slap on gravel 2x.

Yes, looked at the route but the chain stays are bended weird so thats a no go, but the fork already clears a lot more tire then the rear, don't understand what dolan was thinking.

Yes, sounds a little bit good to to be true, already have a nice 853 steel frameset that a ride gravel with now but want disc's and something lighter.

Gewicht: ca. 2560g
Sounds more realistic

Dolan not the only one, a lots of manufacturer do this, the main reason is usually chainstay clearance.

Not sure bout issues. But couldn't be bothered with the PF30 bb. Too much hassle. The frame was alright for the price though!
-

Ah ok, I suppose the most sensible option would be running a 24mm adaptor

• #3519
That looks super nice

true spring spirit then!
I was thinking it was OK to post your own here as it's not the mercilessly moderated porn thread ;)
What chainring?
