All the other beaches along that coast are nicer for swimming. There is the classic coast walk, Coogee to Bondi with good bus connections at each end. Riding is good if you research the back street routes and like hills. Bronte beach has grass and some shade, if you walk from there to Bondi stop for a beer at Icebergs club, sign up for temporary membership. One of the best views around.

The chaps in the office recommended Bondi beach as something to do today- obviously I’m on my ronesome, will my bag/towel/wallet get stolen if I go into the water?
