ThNRC back up and running! So, who won the sprint? Who got lost? How's the beer at the New Inn and the heated waiting room at the station?

Very entertaining bonkwetting from mashton. Shame I didn't make it in the end. I hope to do Roydon at least once this season.

I aim to please, via the medium of my own suffering.

No idea who won the sprint, but whoever it was had barely supped the froth off their pint by the time us stragglers rolled up thanks to the lead group missing the important left turn as usual (although we also got stopped by the traditional Paris Roubaix train barriers). I imagine it was @cgg 's fault given he bought the beers (thanks).
The beer was fine, but nobody tried the Mild.
Special prize for @jaeyukdapbap for packing heat and enabling us to beat last orders.. #worldslongestframepump

By the time of that fateful left turn I was already well and truly alone en chasse-patate so no way I dragged anyone behind me. I guess we just felt it'd be nice to wait for you (or you weren't this far behind).
In other news my knee appears to be alright after all, but I do have a tight IT Band (a.k.a. a "runner's knee" - oh the irony)

Oh I don’t know how to tag you manually.
You need to use the drop-down list that appears when you start to type the name behind the @. I have a non-breaking space in my username, so just typing it with a standard space doesn't work. It's still better than Mrak's username, though. :)

About as difficult as I expected - starting out from Roydon station and feeling crampy twinges wasn't a great start, but it never really bit and I just about made it around.
Top route, even though I never remember the loop. -

Forgot to reply to this--you do know that it's actually a typical cyclist thing to have a tight IT band, don't you?
I had the same problem at about your age. In my case, it turned out the strain on the knee was transferred from a problem with the sacro-iliac (hip) joint. It's worth exploring whether it may be referred pain in your case, as well. I'd also recommend yoga and swimming.

Well no, I didn't :)
So the condition was apparently triggered by new shoes that were too tight and didn't pivot as much as the previous ones on the pedal (spd innit). It may have underlying beforehand mind you.I may try yoga, now that I have swaths of free time at my disposal.
It’s so so good to have TNRC back in my life! Thanks for a good’un all that came out. @mashton shame you put yourself through that. I had to pull over on the way out last year to let some heart palpitations settle.
