I have the RSX shifter/levers I can sell. They work ok.

Cheers mate, I've a pair of Shimano Sora 3x8 brifters, I'll give them a go while I look.
Obviously not ideal, but any idea if the triple shifter will work at all with the 36/46 chainring setup?

£20 and I'll ask a mate if they don't mind collecting them? I'm in New Zealand but used to live in London and my parents still live in the UK if it comes to posting them!

Nah mate.

I know its not really what your looking for but i have a pair of 105 brifters and a rear mech if you want to shift to 10spd, also gonna be in nz at christmas so i can deliver if you dont mind waiting 8 months :)

It's a good option and I don't mind waiting, especially if I can make what I have work in the meantime. How much?
Cheers

both bits are pretty old, still functioning, but you know... old, so £45 for the brifters and £15 for the rear mech
where are you based in nz? -
• #11
Wellington.
Thanks for the offer mate, but I'll give it a miss. I've had an eye on the local classifieds and there's plenty of 105 bits about if I decide to go down that path. A bit easier for both of us!
Cheers

no worries, good luck :)

Have you tried cleaning and lubricating the levers?
I have saved many shifters by soaking the internals with GT85 and operating them on the bike. The old shimano grease gums them up. Worth a try. -

Common fix for rsx/rx100/600 brifters. Lots of videos on YouTube too.

I have tried, and succeeded in the past but unfortunately, this particular set may be too far gone.
The shift / brake levers have given up on my '97 Cannondale R500. Does anyone have a set they would part with? Ideally Shimano RSX, but will consider any working 2x7 speed.
Alternatively, I'm open to upgrade advice and even better if you have the components to suit.
Cheers
