  • Christened the Tarn at Glenlivet trails, it’s a very lovely bike, perhaps 140mm is over egging it as well and the Pikes on 120mm are amazing anyway.

    I’m very pleased with it

  • Did some work on the Trainbiek today

Put the XTR B.B. and Cranks on it from Cotic and swapped the bars over as well.

Just need to find some cheap brake levers and a 10 speed SRAM compatible trigger shifter

  • Fun story; went to Revolution Bike Park last summer, felt violently nauseous for the first two runs before we stopped and slammed a beer. It was a load of fun thereafter.

Also @Ecobeard, chapeau if you're riding the DH trails at Dunkeld on a hardtail, rode there in January, well lairy.

  • God no, not the DH trails! The ‘normal’ trails are steep and techy enough, without going full proline through the Hermitage

  • God no, not the DH trails!

Sounds like it's new bike time!

  • One day, one day

Matt already knows one day I’ll ask him for that full sus DH bike painted with a Sharpe theme

  • full sus DH bike painted with a Sharpe theme

So... I'm not the only one with plans to bankrupt Talbot

  • It’s people like us that have made sure that Isen has to be successful, put it that way.

    We are industry drivers

  • Add belt driven pinion to make sure

  • Add?

    That's just the beginning...

  • ....of the double belt Pinion tandem double squasher

  • I shall call it 'Talbot's bane'

  • Personally, I don't believe he could build such a bike

  • Doesn't he get Caren to build them now anyway?

  • This is definitely a rumour that I have heard

  • I am just in charge of 'vision and hashtag creation' these days.

  • Lies. You outsource all that work to Amey now.

  • Had the Tarn suspension fettled and set up by the local sus experts, Flotec. They also popped the Reverb on for me as well.

Kept the forks at 120mm but some snazzy stuff happened with tokens and such like. I also got a great lesson on how the forks actully work, which has really peaked my interest in the weird and wonderful world of such things.

Stuck Bontrager grips and a Montrose Elite saddle on as well.

I also did some ghetto tubeless work, mostly involving DT Swiss rim tape and electrical tape, which appears to have held up well, but I’m going to redo it as I managed to put the rear tyre on backwards..... 😂

Dispite that mess, I had my first proper crack at Dunkeld yesterday and it was awesome. Terrifying but awesome.

The Tarn really is amazingly capable, unlike me.

Next up for it - tyres that clear faster and have a deeper block, as it’s just slop everywhere up here atm. May also start the hunt for some boost 29er Wheels to try them on it

Here is a photo of me looking terrified, for your lols

  • At least in pics no one can you see where you're clenching.

    Looks amazing.

  • LoL

I think you could hear the clenching in real time...

    It is amazing

Feel very fortunate/intimidated to have it on my doorstep

  • Got the Trainbiek rolling

Some BL-R770-L came in the post this morning and they work surprisingly well with the Spyre SLC’s

I also tested the racks strength with a puppy

Just need a 10 speed Sram trigger shifter, front SQR and it’s good to go bashing down the old railway to Aberfeldy.

Then one day, when the Isen is in its final guise I can wire up the from and rear lights on this

  • Cute doggo, still think the train bike deserves a nicer rack though

  • Hmmm

Maybe, but this one was free

I have a Tubus disco coming for the back, so maybe when that is on the Btwin special will look a bit pants.

    Any cheapish rack suggestions?
