• I've said this before (several times). Don't confront.

    I have first hand experience. I confronted after a close pass (well, just waved an angry hand actually) and the psycho ran me over. Broad daylight with lots of witnesses. Never caught. I was lucky but could easily have been killed if I'd rolled the other way or a hundred other possibilities.

    You're on a bike - they're in a ton of metal. For the outcome it just isn't worth it. They're unlikely to have a sudden epiphany about respecting other road users and that is your best case scenario.

    Instead breath in and get home safely - it really is all that matters. Then track them down and hammer frozen sausages into their lawn* in the dead of night.

    *substitute suitable medium where appropriate.

    I always try and avoid confrontations as it never resolves anything and just leaves me feeling wound up further along the ride, leaving my mind more likely to wander back to the incident.... distracting from the parked car about to pull out suddenly / peds derping into the road etc.
