Who's selling a Macbook atm? Either a high-spec Air or a Pro...

Godfather died, had to fly to Spain in a rush so I can't afford a new MBP, how hard will it be for me to find a replacement logic board for my late 2011 15" MBP? I need to start a fund to pay for a new one which is a bit shit cuz I've also got to save for another plane ticket to Spain for dad's 80th next January... 😑🎻

iOS 11.3 is out.
It lets you disable cpu throttling in phones with degraded batteries.

Sign me up. My 6s went from great to barely usable in the last update

Aye. Do you find in your part of the world that it shuts down a lot in the cold?

Think battery replacements are 25 quid, isn't the 'feature' supposed to only kick in if the battery is old and flakey under load?
Edit: just seen your geekbench scores Well_is_it, that's phenomenal.

It has happened a few times, often at about 70% battery then suddenly it’s dead. If course always when you really need it.

Yeah, the hype is real - plenty of people out there still using the 6s and when running at full speed it’s still incredibly quick by today’s standards.
Single thread performance is faster than a Note 8/s8, Pixel 2...

Has it ever been replaced? There were a few batches that you could get a free replacement as it suddenly shutting down even though had battery was a known problem. Cant remember if it was 6 or 6s, I just know my old work phone was eligible
Edit- what duncs said

I’m planning to replace it but need to be in the vicinity of an Apple store first. Closest one is 4hrs away...

Try something else: which are the reputable used Mac sellers online?

Some of our older readers may remember my Thunderbolt display saga from a few years back when I moved to Oz, glass got trashed in transit to Spain, insurance paid up then it got repaired, tried to sell it out here but no takers and it's too expensive to freight it home so it's been languishing in my parent's garage every since... Until now...
I've got fuck all luggage with me on this trip and my Samsonite case is huge so I checked YouTube to see how easy it is to remove the stand and chuck it in the case... Turns out it's very, very easy!
So now I'll be in the position where I have two 27" monitors but no computer... ☹️😂

That's the easy bit done, now to pack the crap out of it and see if I can get it to London first then to Brisbane via Hong Kong in one piece... Fortunately, the glass isn't expensive to replace if it does break...

More rumblings of the inevitable.

Google tells me you can daisychain two Thunderbolt monitors, anyone tried it? Problems?

Sounds like you need quite a hefty machine if you do. Plenty of pixelz

I guess my late 2011 15" MBP might struggle... Need to get a new logic board put in it first anyway, it's just a paperweight atm...
Hence my second comment.
Haven’t been following iPad scene since I’ve sold one about 4 years ago, but after reading peoples comments for the announcement, found out there was not many significant updates introduced. Basically just pen support and usual chip bump.
But as said - for me perfect.
