Looking good last night! I felt like the fat dad at school sports day on a final 200 metre rep, watching everyone surge ahead, but that's OK. 3k pace seems to be about my limit at this stage in marathon training, and last night was effectively the last big session before the taper-proper; 19 miles for the day inc. 5 miles easy in the morning, then the final 3M @ 5:37 (~MP) on the track before the regular interval session (pyramid going up from 200 to 1k and back down). Final 20 miler and biggest MP session are also in the bank, so just a matter of cutting down now whilst keeping a lid on eating bad things, getting enough sleep, and avoiding ill people.

avoiding ill people.
my first marathon this was my greatest fear after all my hard work in training and I was forced onto the tube where seemingly every person who sat next to me had a cough or a runny nose for 3 months because i didn't have the energy to train and commute 20+ miles a day on the bike.
Made it back to Ladywell for a track session last night with big @PhilPub. So much easier doing a session in a group than on your own, plus Ladywell is pretty sheltered. Fingers crossed for Road Relays selection now!
