Just to be clear I think this is BS, but you asked the question.
Rather than choosing a mainstream organization, like one of the ones that lead the protest, he's chosen a controversial one. More over it's a group that has been both critical of the antisemitism story and of Israel.
So on balance it looks a bit like he's sticking two fingers up at the people who've spearheaded this issue.
Why should hanging out with a Jewish organization when embroiled in claims of antisemitism be anything other than a positive thing?
