  • bummer, but if you dont lock up a wheel worth 700 squids its gonna go pretty quick

  • Huge intentions of cycling into work everyday. Snow yesterday and cold, wet with thunderstorms forecast today. I'm 42 and getting a lift to work off my dad. This feels awful, although not as awful as paying the bus prices.

  • Warm today. Ended up just in the jersey for the first time this year after stripping the raincoat and scarf off.

  • Which bike are you going to put it on?

  • Woke up with a blocked left ear, can't hear fuck all out of it, tried to fiddle with it to get it unblocked unsuccessfully and ended up riding in much later than normal.

Weirdly self-conscious of my breathing the whole way in, couldn't tell if my ear was making my breathing sound laboured or was genuinely out of breath most of the way.

Spent entire ride in paranoid some twat was going to sneak up my inside and had my head on a swivel as a result, got all the way from morden to kennington without incident then the same dickhead undertook me 3 times between E&C and southwark bridge, every single time whilst I was slowing for a developing hazard right in front of me. he had a shitty grey kryptonite lock mounted hanging off back of seatpost with a bright blue ass-saver sellotaped to it so while I doubt I'll be through at that time again I know exactly who to avoid if i do.

Now sat in office where the cacophony of noise is making me feel dizzy. fml

  • I often get something like that in the winter; throat clearing and coughs seem painfully loud and everything else is muffled on that side. What usually sorts it for me is taking small frequent sips at a drink and it suddenly pops back.

  • my girlfriend had blocked ears recently. she went to the GP and a nurse sucked out all the bright orange wax from one side, then the other a few days later. she was elated.

She had some sort of ear drips to put in to soften the wax for a few days beforehand.

  • Most exciting commute in a while, overhead thunderstorm, hail, wind, floods. 14deg, poss light showers they said!

  • A couple of years ago, I had a blocked ear for months. I initially thought (hoped?) it might be blocked with earwax, but it turned out to be fluid in my ear. Doctor prescribed Sudafed, but that seemed to do nothing. It eventually cleared up on its own (not with a sudden pop, but a slow gradual improvement).

  • Fucking pot hole by Clapham Junction station!!!!!!!!

  • She had some sort of ear drips

They often suggest using olive oil. And don’t seem rob have a problem with you using what you buy off the shelf at a supermarket. Don’t know though they might have given her something special

  • It was in a little white bottle with an NHS looking label on it. She used baby oil and hot water before which didn't do a lot

Imagine my excitement at seeing a bottle of baby oil in the kitchen. Bah!

  • Tried this with the daughter at the weekend. In the wet. Some fairly steep slopes for a 4yo on an Islabike.

First she scared herself witless and then after she saw some big lads doing it we couldn't drag her away. By that stage we'd decided that she stood a good chance of properly wrecking herself so called time. To much howling.

Can you get full face helmets and pads for a tot? Le sigh...

  • Jeez, sounds eventful! Maybe there's another Shanaze brewing.
Agreed though, it's not exactly a beginners track. Tight and steep.
There's a new setup in CPP. I know there's a bowl which is also probably a bit advanced but I think there's some easier ramps etc.

  • Hopi ear candles ftw.

  • Altercation with a van load of scaffolders, unnerving, no hot water at work, cold washing, have to now go to Crewe for a meeting, not cycling.

  • It was ok. Looked quite gentle in your photo. Problem with my daughter is she has to do everything herself.. eeeverything. Once she'd seen it she had to try it.

We normally let her do more or less anything herself but the scope for a trip to A&E was a little too high on this occasion so after a few good wipe outs that was that. She satisfied herself with racing joggers on the way back..

  • Hopi ear candles ftw.

Went for a similar remedy passed down to me by my old nan who grew up in whitechapel.

  • Jason Statham is your nan?

    Seems legit.

  • More believable than sting being my dad.

  • Jason Statham is Sting's mum?

  • I fear we may be straying off topic a smidge now. but yes yes she is.

  • Altercation with a van load of scaffolders

Scaffolders and any vehicle which has ever been used for carrying scaffolding are the apex road using cunts for me.

Even worse than vehicles with Help for Hero's stickers in the back window, if I get close pass 9/10 they have a help for hero's sticker.
