Excited! I'm getting a go on one Thursday evening! :0)
Sorry, just had to share.....
-
• #3879
Which one are you getting?
-
• #3880
Count sprocket and teeth, buy Brompton own chains as they’re pre-cut.
-
• #3881
I'm not getting one (yet!), but am going to a talk by Mike burrows and borrowing one from a friend's wife.....I've had vintage folders before, but never had a go on a Brompton......I will have one one day though!

Has anyone got a telescopic seatpost they no longer need?
Thanks.

The current Brompton bike builder no longer allows you to select the suspension stiffness - have they just put a stiff one on the 2018 models?
-

Well, that was enlightening! Things I learned....
- The front end/handlebar/headtube interface can get a bit noodly.
- The gearing on my pal's wife's one was a bit inbetween for me...either a bit high or a bit low (a six speed)
- I bloody loved it.
- They get smoother to ride with a bit of alcohol oiling the way.
- Mike Burrows is, indeed, a genius.

re: Electric Brompton
"The final testing has finalised and we are currently organising production dates. As far as I am concerned, there is a new communication due next week with more information about delivery dates for those who has placed a deposit."On another note, it's a shame that this thread has such a nasty OP, not a good look is it.
Can/do old past posts get modded here? -
• #3889
Why? Op was eight years ago and there was a robust dismissal of the sexism inherent in it.
Good to see how far we’ve come. -
• #3890
Just the way this place works, posts don't die off like lots of other forums, they become like mini boards for discussion on a topic that last years and years.
Anyone new to this thread would open it and see the OP as the first thing. -
• #3891
And they would see the immediate dismissal of first post, and then if they felt like it would continue reading to find jokes and in jokes then some sense on the subject of owning a Brompton, or jump to the last page (currently) and discover interesting chat about owning a Brompton and the arrival of the electric Brompton and us two discussing the merits or not of keeping the opening post.
In the great scheme of things it’s upto whoever comes searching for brompton information to navigate that opening post, rather than us to try and anticipate how uncomfortable it may make them feel and to edit it accordingly. -
• #3892
Fair enough, just thought I'd ask.
I've been off here regularly for quite a few years, no idea how moderation works around these parts :) -
• #3893
Ti springs - is there much between the cheap ones (Rockbros, J&L)?
-
• #3894
Don't they just creak?
-
• #3895
Dunno, do they?
Anyway, gainz

• #3897
What i heard. Poss not true.

Created a Google doc of places in London that do/don't accept Bromptons in cloakrooms:
