Memes that cut deep.

Ummm, is this one road bike friendly?
-
• #11
The description says yes, but I think any less than 32s this time of year is asking for multiple punctures/walking/slideouts, but I've only done the route in Feb and then summer. Maybe a SE member who did the reccy recently knows if it's reasonable.

I'm fitting 25/26 max on my road bike
-
• #13
The weather doesnt look too good for this
-
• #14
yeah not super inspiring is it.
-
• #15
With the weather it'll be less road bike friendly, but still doable if you're willing to walk the muddiest bits, of which there should only be a couple.
Best thing about this (yes, I'll be honest, super hard) route. Is that you're never too far off the beaten track, Box Hill, Westerham etc... So plenty of places to reconsider your life choices ;)

Maybe knobblies on the do-it-all bike then. Looking forward to it

• #17
Have fun please.

• #18

Well done for getting out! Would like to do this one later in the year when conditions are a bit friendlier and I’ve got some miles in my legs.
-
• #21
looked like pretty grim conditions to do this... respekt !
-
• #22
Yeah good on all who started.
Only 2 people made it past Westerham, and as far as I know they've not finished yet
-
• #23
Brutal. Fair play for giving it a try.
-
• #24
That was a bit tough: floods above the hubs, many many hills and cold, constant rain. 2 finishers I believe: epic attrition record I presume? Maybe one to do in the summer to remind myself this can be fun.

Did anyone else do No3,?,,epic surfing and cyclocross
Round 2 for 2018 is the original Epic Echappée, The Hillier Gravelly One. Tweaked and so called improved featuring even more gravel and up.
In the great British tradition of the early season reliability trial, inspired by the iconic CiCLE Classic and Dengie Tour of the Marshes and in honour of the spring classics, Sunday Echappée presents ‘The Epic Echappée’ a Friday trip to hell and back.
This ride operates a shit load of gravel policy.
This year we have moved the start of the ride to Artisan Coffee in East Sheen, this is to get you out of London as quickly as possible. The ride will finish at the Canopy Brewery tap room where you can expect some damn fine beer to congratulate yourself with on a job well done! (Please not the ride will start and finish at different locations!)
