  • Ormond's reply to Waugh was quite good too.

  • Remember what happened with Tendulkar

Now that was a storm in a teacup

  • "Looks like you spent it eating"?

    That one?

Edit - that was Cullinan, who was Warnes Rabbit

  • Aha, the best brother one, had forgotten about that

    Genius

  • Warnes Rabbit

    Amazing...

  • Do we have a Cricket team btw?

I managed to build an amazingly bad one at Brixton Cycles Club and Network Rail

Could look to arrange a game in the summer?

I can probably get a midweek pitch at the S&M club (Streatham and Marlborough, sorry to get hopes up)

  • Hence his nickname of 'Afghan'.

  • Indeed

    “The Forgotten War” 😂

  • They did have a point though

  • Shouldn't have explained that. You'd have had more volunteers!

  • True, can always just bowl a bit of chin and toes though, if folk are that way inclined.

One of the BCC lot plays for the MCC, it's amazing watching her trying to combat the sheer accidental brilliance of village bowling without laughing. We make it so that everyone bowls, and everyone definetly bats.....

All this and the very reasonable bar prices make it a great value evening...

  • Sold! (if I'm still working in Laaandaaan) Guaranteed to offer a very village performance.

Still have my contact at Lords cricket school, if anyone is up for rounding up a few people for nets?

  • Awesome

Very much up for some nets if they are on Tues, Weds, Thurs nights.

May be able to round up a few more as well

And also lug my cricket dowm on sleeper

  • I shall have words with him after the Easter weekend then...

  • hehe yeah heard that one. Never sure who it was but remember the gist of the line.

There's another less PC one about mum fucking and kids...

  • Marsh & Botham?

Marsh - "So how's your wife and my kids?"

Beefy - "wife's fine, kids are retarded"

  • Yeah, that one.

  • I refuse to believe that one really happened - in years of commentary, Botham has never shown the capability for that level of wit (he's shown plenty of capability for being non-PC though).

  • It's not actually a witty response really, just comes across as two witless fools shouting at each other.

I bet they were at each other for ages and that's the only memorable part of the 'conversation'

Doesn't he commentate for Sky? Who on earth watches that without the sound down and TMS on?

The height of wit has to be Hughes to Richards

Viv smashed him to the ropes 4 times in 4 balls, Hughes then ran down the wicket, farted and said "try hitting that for 4"

  • Plenty of time (and recurring situations) to go from esprit de l'escalier to prepared put downs.

  • We did have regular nets a few years back, don't think we managed a game though.

  • Lovely day here in Christchurch, Cook’s still shite though.

  • @Ecobeard @c00ps @kidboy I'm always up for nets or a game. I play regularly on the weekend in the summer, but mid week works well and Lords would be perfect!

  • What a lovely cricket ground

  • you in NZ ? have a great one pic from the outfield if u get on st lunch
