What was NP for both?
-
• #8703
Those were NP rather than average power.
Average was 147 vs 193 -
• #8704
147 avg 170 NP
193 avg 217 NPHmm. Legs AIDS. Definitely leg AIDS.

Sorry to do this. And don’t ban me fat boy.
But can someone recommend a good ant+ heart rate monitor?
-

Wahoo Tickr. Ant+ and BLE.

I've started wearing a HRM again for turbo sessions, just to give me something else to look out.
I've got a whole collection of Powertap ones and another one that I think is Bluetooth-only.NB. about Powertap HRMs when you change the battery the fucking ID changes so you have to remove the old one from Garmin and find the new one.

@Dubtap recommends the Decathlon one which has both Ant+ and BLE:
https://www.lfgss.com/comments/14098148/I have a Polar strap with a Garmin Ant+ unit and will probably upgrade soon too.

I’ve got a tickr, which is good, but digs in a bit on the chest (plastic ends to the strap where the snap rivets connect to the pod)

Thanks, I've two garmin ones and neither work. Tried batteries and straps.
-

Post me a powertap one If you've spare.
-
• #8712
Thanks, will get one. If hippy doesn't have a spare to give.

Have they ever worked? There is a common problem when the battery runs low, that even when you put a new battery in it stays dormant. Quick fix is to put the battery in backwards for a couple of seconds, then put it in properly. Should sort it.

I tried that battery trick but didn’t help. It will pair but then says my heart rate is like 90 or 70 or some other bullshit number. Occasionally it gives a sensible reading, but then it’ll just drop out or go back to a wrong number

Is that outside assistance? :P
-
• #8716
You sure you didn't put the flat battery back in? I've known people to do that.
(Yes, it was probably me)
-
• #8717
I'll have a look through my stuff.
-
• #8718
I'm pretty sure. I'll try another battery later and see.

• #8719
Good luck...

I LOLd
But imagine if all those bikes were in a London flat...

• #8721
It'd look like yours?

The old solid strap Garmin HRs seem to be bomb proof in comparison to the soft straps that can’t cope with salty sweat.
-
• #8724
Dunno. Had my soft strap for I think 5 years now and drowned it in enough salty sweat to fill the dead sea.

I am having similar problems with my NG eco, power drop outs, warnings the battery is nearly flat etc. power2max say it is a firmware issue and that I need to update firmware, however I don't have an android device.
What solutions have you found?
