That was the wettest, coldest ride I’ve done in some while. 13 miles in driving rain, soaked through, two layers of Goretex gave up the ghost within about 20 minutes. Had to change to spare dry gloves at Angel cos my fingers were actually hurting from the cold. Office here looks like a laundry now with 3 riders worth of kit attempting to dry out by 6pm.
Well the middle layer was a Gore Windstopper and I had a Gore shell over the top of that, but if goretex is meant to be breathable then mine has asthma. It’s fucking useless in anything more than light rain. Time for a new one.
